NiaKionna grew up in Evans, GA, a small town that “never felt small” to her in a very family-oriented atmosphere. She got her start in music at an early age, being first introduced to Gospel music by her parents and singing in church. Once she started at Georgia State, she started doing music as an individual and developing who she was as an artist. This is when she fell in love with performing and solidified the NiaKionna sound. She says “I think music is a connector piece that transcends language and can be really impactful when you’re trying to get a message across.”
